Potters Fields Park
Potters Fields Park is a unique green open space by the Thames next to Tower Bridge. With its spacious lawns, whispering trees, quiet walkways and colourful wildlife-friendly gardens, it offers an oasis in the middle of London.
Whether you’re looking for quiet contemplation, iconic London views, somewhere to walk the dog, a place to picnic with friends or a lively event, Potters Fields is open 365 days a year for everyone to enjoy. It can also be hired for events.
Planting
There are over 50 plant species in the Park. Designed for year-round interest, the planting ranges from herbaceous borders filled with echinacea and wild peonies in summer to deep purple buttercups and spiky snake root in winter.
Wildlife
Our herbaceous planting scheme is home to a whole host of wildlife, from bees and birds to insects and bats. We actively encourage wildlife to grow and live in the parks by introducing bat boxes, bee hives, bluebell meadows and insect hotels.
History
The Park’s rich history, dating back to its use in the 17th Century, not only defines its name as ‘Potters Fields’ but is also what makes it so special. Many of the architectural features within the park conscientiously nod towards its varied history, as London’s pottery kiln, as London’s trade hub, London’s ecological and community space and London’s tourist destination. Potters Fields is home to many stories.
